Pessimism

Pessimism masquerades as realism, but in startups as in life it is poison.

Reject pessimism in yourself and do not allow it in others around you. Instead, serve and encourage others to serve with cheerful abandonment.

The world tempts you to lose heart. Do not yield, but carry on with that sanctifying pig-headedness which is perseverance.

The rewards of founders I've seen operate in this way are many, and the material rewards are only the most visible.
